Who We Are What We Do Where We Are

WENDY REDFERN

Wendy has been passionately helping clients with their health care needs for over 25 years. Her varied experiences, and extensive education enable her to provide an effective, integrated and personal approach to helping people of all ages to achieve their health and well- being goals.

Wendy opened a private practice in 2006 to allow her to offer her growing services in a supportive and nurturing environment. In order to optimize healing, Wendy’s sessions are typically an hour enabling her to evaluate your health care needs and goals, provide a thorough assessment and to determine a treatment plan that could include 1 or all of the following therapies: physiotherapy, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy or reiki. Wendy encourages full participation of her clients in their own treatment plan to achieve their health and well- being goals.

Wendy graduated from Physiotherapy in 1992 and completed her Advanced Diploma in Manipulative and Manual Therapy in 2001. Wendy has been an evaluator for the National Physiotherapy Exam, offered workshops to local sports groups, and volunteered her time giving reiki to individuals with cancer.

Wendy is a spiritual teacher and guide in a community called Trillium Awakening. This spiritual path enables individuals to awaken to their true and total nature, a realization of already being whole and an intrinsic part of the unified field of all creation.

TORI YOUNG

Tori has a passionate enthusiasm for understanding and learning about the human body which began expanding while studying Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo (B.Sc. (Hon.Kin.) 1994). After completing graduate studies in Exercise Physiology at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 1988 she worked as the Head Rowing Coach at UBC. In 1994 Tori completed her massage therapy training at Sutherland-Chan Massage Therapy School. Later, while actively practicing massage therapy, Tori returned to teach at the massage school for several years.

Tori’s on-going quest for understanding more about the human body and other manual therapies led her to pursue and earn a Diploma of Osteopathic Manual Practice (D.O.M.P.) at the Canadian College of Osteopathy in Toronto (2009). She continues to pursue educational opportunities that include post-graduate courses in osteopathy, craniosacral therapy and functional training.

Tori believes that her role as a manual therapist is to facilitate the client’s health and well-being. She feels that this may be achieved by honouring and empowering each client’s innate wisdom regarding healing and function. She also believes that the success of this “facilitation” requires that clients fully participate in their therapy process.
