PHYSIOTHERAPY/MYOFASCIAL RELEASE
Myofascial release (MFR) is a unique form of
physiotherapy/massage therapy. MFR is an effective hands on,
whole body approach that evaluates and treats the CAUSE of
your symptoms.
MFR uses sustained gentle to moderate pressure
into myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate
pain and to restore motion and function.
Trauma, injuries, inflammatory responses and
surgeries can create myofascial restrictions that can exert
tremendous pressure on pain sensitive structures. MFR can
be used acutely ( right after trauma/injury) and many years
after the injury/surgery to effectively release these restrictions
to assist in pain reduction/elimination and restoration of
mobility and function.
CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY
Craniosacral therapy is a holistic healing practice
that uses very light pressures to optimize the position, fluid
movement (wave) and energy of the various parts of the craniosacral
system. This treatment focuses on the brain, the cerebral
spinal fluid, the dural membrane, the cranial bones, the spine
and the sacrum yet can also be used to treat other areas of
restriction in the body. Craniosacral therapy can help you
feel more aligned and at home in your body, ultimately helping
you to access your own insight and clarity.
OSTEOPATHY
Osteopathy is an approach to manual therapy
that is based on a philosophy that the human body has an innate
ability to heal and self-regulate. The osteopathic treatment
approach considers the relationships and connections between
the many structures of the body (i.e. tissues, fluids, organs,
bones). The goal of treatment is to identify and address the
primary cause(s) of dysfunction such that self-regulation/healing
is optimized. It is through the application of finely trained
palpation skills that the practitioner is able to identify
and release restrictions. In an osteopathic session various
manual techniques may be used such as visceral manipulation,
craniosacral therapy, myofascial release and muscle energy.
MASSAGE THERAPY
Massage therapy is the assessment and treatment
of soft tissues and joints of the body. The goal of massage
therapy is to treat and prevent physical dysfunction and pain
in these structures. Massage therapy sessions incorporate
various manual therapy techniques such as Swedish massage
and myofascial release to meet client’s treatment goals.
REIKI
Reiki is an ancient, hands on method of assisting
the body’s healing process by giving it a surplus of
energy. Reiki facilitates a more normal flow of energy throughout
the body creating more vibrancy, health and wellbeing.
Individuals may seek reiki for many different
reasons: to help manage stress, to calm the mind and to maximize
the potential to enjoy life to the fullest. Reiki can also
be used to assist the body's innate ability to heal itself
of physical issues and mental/ emotional traumas or upsets.
Reiki can help you to connect with, acknowledge
and understand what is happening within your body and mind
that may be contributing to your symptoms. With a growing
awareness, we have an increased capability to move forward
towards authentic healing.
